Swarânjali is a sacred musical offering, honouring a voice and a teacher whose artistry became a timeless raga.
This special evening blends the elegance of Indian ragas with the vibrant rhythms of Sri Lankan music, presented by the talented students of Sa-Ga-Ri Academy of Music.
For 14 years, Sa-Ga-Ri Academy has nurtured young musicians across Melbourne, creating meaningful platforms for students to perform, grow, and proudly carry Sri Lankan musical heritage within the Australian community.
Swaranjali pays tribute to Sangeeta Nipun Manjula Seneviratne, a remarkable vocalist and educator who began her musical journey at age 10 under renowned mentors including Dr. Nanda Malini. She holds prestigious qualifications such as Sangeet Visharad, Sangeet Nipun, and a Master’s in Performing Arts. With over 35 years of teaching experience, she has lectured at leading universities, co-directed Kalabhumi Academy, and guided many students who are now celebrated artists and educators. Her exceptional contribution to North Indian Classical Music was honoured with the Lionel Edirisinghe Memorial Award in 2013.
Join us for an inspiring evening where devotion, rhythm, and tradition come together in a heartfelt musical tribute.
